What Is the House Price Index?
The House Price Index (HPI) measures the average quality-adjusted change in house prices in Türkiye and is published monthly by the CBRT. Its annual change shows the average percentage rise in home prices over a year — but this is a nominal increase; the inflation-adjusted real change may differ.
What Is the Rent Index (YKKE)?
The New Tenant Rent Index (YKKE) tracks the rent change for newly leased homes. While the annual increase for existing tenants is capped by law (CPI), the YKKE reflects the current market rent level and therefore often rises faster.
