Nominal or Real?
The nominal return is the increase in the asset's price in lira. The real return is the gain stripped of inflation: if an asset returns 100% while inflation is 120%, the real return is negative (purchasing power has fallen). The real return is more meaningful for investment decisions. Past performance is no guarantee of future results.
